What are the criteria for a compassionate reassignment, deferment or deletion?
Consideration is given only for problems that cannot be resolved through use of leave, correspondence, power of attorney, or help from other Family Members.

What documentation is required for a medical problem?
A signed statement from an attending physician giving specific medical diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan of illness. The statement will include date of onset, past and anticipated periods of hospitalization, period of convalescence, and anticipated life expectancy for terminal cases.

How long does it take to receive an answer for the Compassionate Reassignment request?
Each case is individually reviewed and approved/disapproved on a case by case basis.

How do I find out what mandatory training is required for OCONUS Leave?
Requirements for mandatory training can be found at https://www.fcg.pentagon.mil/fcg.cfm. Completed training certificates should be included in the Request for OCONUS Leave Packet.

How do I get travel clearance?
Soldier must complete the Approved Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) no more than 60 days out from departure date. APACS can be accessed through https://apacs.dtic.mil.

Do the same procedures apply to Soldiers requesting OCONUS Emergency Leave?
Yes. Emergency leave criteria can be found in AR 600-8-10. Authorization for government funded travel can be found in AR 55-46, table 7-1.
