COL R.J. Garcia

Colonel R.J. Garcia is from San Antonio, Texas. Upon graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1996 he was commissioned into the Aviation Branch. He holds a Bachelor of Science from West Point, a Master of Science from Kansas State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.

 

Colonel Garcia has served in various locations and duty positions across the United States and overseas. These include duty with the 2d Infantry Division, Camp Page, South Korea; the 4th Infantry Division and 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; the 3d Infantry Division, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Alexandria, Virginia; the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Rucker, Alabama; the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York; and the 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. Most recently Colonel Garcia served on the Army Staff as the Chief, Aviation Operations and Integration, HQDA G-3/5/7 (DAMO-AV).

 

His military education includes the Initial Entry Rotary Wing Aviator Course, Aviation Officer Basic Course, the Aviation Captains Career Course, the Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, and the AH-64A and AH-64D Aircraft Qualification Courses.

 

Colonel Garcia is a Senior Army Aviator who has earned the Combat Action Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Army Staff Badge, and various awards and decorations commensurate with his positions of responsibility and time in service. In addition to his military decorations he has been inducted into the Army Aviation Association of America Order of St. Michael (Bronze).

 

Colonel Garcia is married and has two children.
