Grave markers of fallen service members bear fresh evergreen wreaths during the second annual Sackets Harbor Military Cemetery wreath-laying ceremony in honor of National Wreaths Across America Day, in Sackets Harbor, New York, Dec. 15, 2018. The event was originally organized by Jamie Lynn Mendelson, a college freshman, as a community service project, with help from Shari Simmons, who donated the wreaths from Simmons Farm in Copenhagen. Soldiers of 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI), participated in the event in support of the 41st Engineer Battalion community partnership with the village of Sackets Harbor.
