Mission:
The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is dedicated to domestic and child abuse prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment. The Army provides a variety of services to Soldiers and Families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life. This mission is accomplished through a variety of groups, seminars, workshops and counseling and intervention services.
New Parent Support Program - Home Visitors:
Being a parent is hard; developing the skills to be a good parent doesn't need to be. We can help! If you are unsure of your steps as a new parent, call to schedule time with one of our Home Visitors.
This is a voluntary home visitation program for families expecting a child or with children from newborn up to 3 years old.
Services are provided free of charge by registered nurses and social workers.
Family Advocacy Program New Parent Support Home Visitors are located at ASAP, Bldg. 10250, 4th Armored Division Drive, Fort Drum, N.Y. 13602. During regular duty hours, you may call (315) 772-4070 / 3571 / 0748 / 2933, to schedule an appointment, request assistance, or to receive information and referral.
Victim Advocates:
Family Advocacy Program Victim Advocates are located at ASAP, Bldg. 10250, 4th Armored Division Drive, Fort Drum, N.Y. 13602. During regular duty hours, you may call (315) 772-5605 or (315) 772-8934 to schedule an appointment, request assistance, or to receive information and referral. After duty hours, call the crisis hotline number listed below.
The Fort Drum Crisis Hotline: (315) 955-4321, connects you with a trained professional victim advocate 24/7.
Services provided by these advocates include:
- Crisis intervention and non-clinical support
- Safety planning
- Assistance with Safe Shelter Placement
- Information regarding the Transitional Compensation Program
- Coordination with emergency services: housing, food, transportation, etc.
- Assistance in requesting protection orders (military or civilian)
- Accompaniment throughout the medical, investigative, and legal processes
- General information and referrals
