Mission:

To sustain and cultivate a multi-skilled workforce with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to consistently deliver exceptional services and products to our Soldiers, families, retirees, and civilians of the Fort Drum community.
 

Civilian of the Quarter Submissions

The Outstanding Civilian of the Quarter (COQ) Award Program aims to honor and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and commendable performance of the Fort Drum civilian workforce. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge their vital role in supporting the organization’s mission. The award ceremony is held quarterly at the Peak.

Nominations must be submitted digitally using the Fort Drum Form 609-E. The completed Fort Drum Form 609-E must contain sufficient and detailed accomplishments of the employee, as it will be used to determine the overall category winner. Anyone can nominate an employee for his or her achievements; however, the nomination must be routed through the employee’s supervisory chain for approval.

There are four categories for nomination:

1. Supervisory employees (excluding the highest-ranking supervisor of the organization, e.g. director).

2. Wage Grade / Wage Leader, or NAF Trades and Crafts employees (NA/NL).

3. General Schedule 1-8, or NAF Pay Band NF-1 and NF-2 and CY Pay Band employees.

4. General Schedule 9 and above, or NAF Pay Band NF-3 and NF-4 employees.
 

How to nominate a Department of the Army civilian employee for Civilian of the Quarter:

1. Complete the Fort Drum Form 609-E. This form must contain a justification of why the employee has been nominated and an award citation on the bottom. The award citation is what will be printed on the certificate that the employee receives at the ceremony.

2. Submit the Fort Drum Form 609-E digitally to FortDrumWorkforceDevelopment@army.mil once the director/commander has approved it during the nomination window.
