Gate Hours:
THE BORINQUENEER'S GATE AND VISITOR CONTROL CENTER (VCC):
The Borinqueneers’ gate, USAG Fort Buchanan’s main gate, is open for operations 24 hours, 7 days a week.
All trucks will use The Borinqueneers Gate to enter and exit the installation.
The Visitor Control Center (VCC) operates from its facilities at The Borinqueneers’ Gate Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and effective November 5, 2022 open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, It is closed all Federal Holidays, (787) 707-3995.
SPC FRANCES M. VEGA GATE:
Spc. Frances M. Vega Gate is open Monday to Friday ONLY from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. inbound and outbound. Monday thru Friday OUTBOUND ONLY from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed all Federal Holidays. Access through this gate is for Common Access Card (CAC) holders and persons with valid installation access credentials.

ACCESS CONTROL RESOURCES:
In accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 and Army Regulation 190-13, all visitors and uncleared contractors desiring unescorted access to Fort Buchanan, must be vetted through the National Crime Information Center Interstate Identification Index (NCIC III).
To complete a background check and be issued an installation access badge you must go to the Visitor Control Center (VCC) located at The Borinqueneers’ gate, USAG Fort Buchanan’s main gate and complete an access request form.

Visitors, contractors and vendors 18 years and older, entering Fort Buchanan, who do not have a DOD identification card, will be subject to a background check before being allowed entry to the installation. Those who present a common access card (CAC card), Military ID, Military Dependent ID, Gold Star ID, or other valid DOD credential won't be affected.
