Mission and Vision Statements:
The Administrative Support Services  is responsible for providing overall support and serving as the principle US Army Garrison (USAG), Fort Buchanan advisor for records management and printing, publications, and forms management.  Provide Records Management services in support of all members of the installation. It is the planning, controlling, directing, organizing, training, promoting, and other managerial activities involved in records. Establishing effective controls over the creation, organization, maintenance, use, and disposition of Army records information in order to achieve adequate, effective and economical management of agency operations.

Records Management: Provide assistance with Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS), maintain Records Holding Area, office symbol (USAG only) and distribution formula services, correspondence management, staff directory, Vital Records program, and management information control. Publications and Forms Management Office:

Responsible for implementing the Forms and Publications Management Programs at the installation level and the Island Wide Concept. Assists customers around the island and the Caribbean concerning matters dealing with Forms and Publications. Plans, organizes and oversees the requisitioning, handling, storage distribution and disposition of publications, and forms (including accountable and sensitive forms) IAW AR 25-30 and AR 380-5. Provide guidance on how to obtain local printing and binding services, forms approval, and publications accounts. Managed the Electronic Forms Program and provides Adobe LiveCycle ES3 support to Fort Buchanan and tenants units.
 
We publish Fort Buchanan (FB) publications and forms in electronic format, we cannot convert DD or DA forms. We approve publications and forms accounts for forwarding to the US Army Publishing Directorate. The web site for Army Publications and Forms is http://www.apd.army.mil/. The ordering system is at https://dol.hqda.pentagon.mil/ptclick/index.aspx. Fort Buchanan does not have a publications and forms warehouse.
 
PROCEDURES:
To establish a local publications account
  • Submit a DA Form 1687, Delegation of Authority, signed by the Commander or supervisor to the Publications Office, located in Bldg. 514.
To request Forms and Publications
  • Submit a DA Form 17, Requisition for Publication and blank Forms, signed by the Commander or supervisor to the Publications Office, located in Bldg. 514.
To request changes or a new forms in Adobe
  • Submit a DD Form 67, Form Processing Action Request, signed by the Commander or supervisor to the Publications Office, located in Bldg. 514.

DLA Document Services and Printing Management:

Responsible for document automation and printing within the Department of Defense and the Federal Branch Agencies, encompassing electronic conversion, retrieval, output and distribution of digital and hardcopy information. We arrange for local printing services through Defense Logistics Agency, Jim Shouse, (787) 707-2155,  or email to james.c.shouse.ctr@mail.mil. We are located in Building 514 South Terminal Road.

We ask however, that you first contact 707-3504 and facilitate the review and approval of the proposed printing request prior to submitting directly to DLA.

The Defense Logistics Agency Document Services located at building 514, South Terminal Road, Fort Buchanan PR is the sole agency to conduct printing for Fort Buchanan.
