Located by the city of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Fort Buchanan is near the capital of San Juan. The installation is around the corner from San Patricio Plaza , a commercial shopping mall which along with shops and stores, is home to San Patricio Village which has a variety of eateries, specialty shops, banks, Federal, local and private offices.
The main language in Puerto Rico is Spanish but English is spoken in most buisnesses and service areas.
The culture of Puerto Rico has been greatly influenced by its history. With the blend of Taino Indians, Spanish and African cultures, comes a melting pot of people and traditions, as well as the impact of the United States political and social exchange into every aspect of life.
Puerto Rican cuisine is a unique tasty blend of Spanish, African, Taíno, and American influences. We call it "cocina criolla", a delicious mingling of flavors and ingredients passed from generation to generation.
Puerto Rico boasts fabulous ocean views, tropical weather, and lush green mountains, all these are a short distance from Fort Buchanan.
