Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS)
The Fort Buchanan Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program (BOSS) supports the overall quality of life for the single and unaccompanied Soldiers (including single parents) on the installation. The Fort Buchanan BOSS program supports the chain of command by identifying quality of life issues and concerns by providing recommendations for improvement.
It assists single Soldiers in identifying and planning recreational and leisure activities that are offered in a safe and exciting environment. It provides an opportunity for single Soldiers to participate and contribute to their respective communities and gives the individual a sense of responsibility and involvement.
Education Opportunities
MISSION: To create and lead the Army’s premiere education organization committed to excellence, innovation, and deployability.
Counseling's an integral part of the individual's educational endeavors. The Education Services Specialists are committed to providing quality services and programs to active duty and Reserve personnel, family members, retired military personnel, and civilian personnel. Professional guidance counselors staff the Education Center and provide a full range of adult and continuing education counseling. Individual counseling is available during normal duty hours on a walk-in basis. Education staff are also available to visit units and provide briefings to soldiers and commanders on the education opportunities at Fort Buchanan.
Recreation
Fort Buchanan's Recreation is a division under Fort Buchanan's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) directorate. They are committed to providing top notch services and events for Fort Buchanan and the surrounding community. Outside the gates of the installation they offer recreational treats such as Kayaking Adventures, Scuba diving lessons, Island tours for the adventurer and for coffee lovers. Our facilities include Outdoor Recreation with an awesome golf course with tournaments and a Club House; softball and foot ball fields, and Equipment Checkout Center; now the recreational use of Las Casas Lake for Catch and Release fun; the Fort Buchanan Library;, Leisure Travel Services; Auto Skills and Special Events.

Fort Buchanan Fitness and Sports is under the Fort Buchanan's (DFMWR) . They are honored in providing service members and their families with multiple types of sports and fitness centers. Some of the things they offer are fitness programs, group fitness classes, gyms, running trails and tracks and our different sports.
Dining and Entertainment
Fort Buchanan dining and entertainment is under the Fort Buchanan's (DFMWR) . They are dedicated to providing our service members and their families with multiple types of dining and entertainment. Some of the things we offer are Fort Buchanan's Community Club and Conference Center's Borinquen Bar & Patio, the Fort Buchanan Bowling Center snack/bar, Gold Club house snack/bar, and Outdoor Cinema offering free movies at the Community Club.
