The Barden Education Center provides adult education opportunities to Military Soldiers, Adult Family Members, Retirees and Department of Defense Civilians. Services include Educational Counseling, Testing, Functional Academeic Skills Training (FAST), Multi-Use Learning Facility (MLF), Facility Space Management, and On-post undergraduate and graduate college programs.

Government Testing center

Army Personnel Tests/Education Tests administered include: Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT), Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT), Pre-GT, Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), Selection Instrument Flight Training (SIFT), Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI), and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST).

Exams given: College Level Examination Programs (CLEP) tests, DANTES Subject Standardization Tests (DSSTs), Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) English and Math placements exams, including Accuplacer, Extended Learning Insitute (ELI), Student Development Assessment by Local Examination (SDV-ABLE) PearsonVue, and Proctored exams from other institutions. PearsonVue exams are only given on Tuesday 0800-1200 and Wednesday 0800-1500.  Please register for these exams at www.PearsonVUE.com/gov/register.

The FAST class provides Soldiers with on-duty instruction in reading, math and language skills. The goal is to strengthen academic skills, improve job performance and increase reenlistment options.
