The Fort Belvoir Inspector General office is a satellite office of the Joint Force Headquarters-National Captial Region & U.S. Army Military District of Washington (JFHQ-NCR/MDW) Inspector General office located on Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, D.C. Our areas of responsibility include the greater NCR, Fort Belvoir, VA, Fort Myer, VA, Fort Meade, MD and Fort A.P. Hill, VA.
Everyone has the right to speak to the IG, and everyone has the right to submit their complaint to the IG.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the JFHQ-NCR/MDW Inspector General is to assess and report to the Commanding General , in an unbiased, objective and timely manner on matters affecting mission performance, and the state of economy, discipline, morale, training, and readiness throughout the command. The Inspector general also monitors effectiveness of IG functions throughout the command and provides advice and assistance to subordinate IG offices, located at Fort Belvoir and at Fort Meade as required.

Before you tell it to your Inspector Geenral, be sure you have a problem and not just a peeve. To complain without fear of reprisal is the right of any Soldier, Civilian, or Family Member seeking IG help. After all, problem solving is one of the IG's primary missions. Understand better what a real issue is and what you can do about helping yourself, and others, in times of need.
