Scheduling and Appointments

  • Online Scheduler: Use the ID Card Office Online (IDCO) to book, find, or cancel appointments.  You can schedule up to two months in advance.
  • Emergency Walk-Ins: Accepted on a strict case-by-case basis for:

    • Expired ID cards (within 90 days of expiration).

    • Immediate PIN resets.

    • Lost or stolen ID cards.

  • Alternate Offices: If our schedule is full, there may be an office closer to your home. View Regional Map PDF

Required Documentation

  • Identity Requirements: All beneficiaries age 18 and older must present two forms of unexpired ID.
    • For Renewals: Your soon-to-expire DoD ID card is a valid primary ID.

    • Primary ID (Must have photo): Military ID, Driver’s License, U.S. Passport, or State ID.

    • Secondary ID: Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, Voter Registration Card, or a second Primary ID from the acceptable list.

  • Original Documents Only: All documents must be originals or state-certified copies. We cannot accept photocopies, digital images, or laminated Social Security cards/birth certificates.

  • Prohibited IDs: Per DoD policy, local installation or base badges are NOT an acceptable form of identification.

  • For All Dependents (The Sponsor Rule): The Sponsor must be present to sign the DD Form 1172-2.

    • If the Sponsor cannot attend, the dependent must provide one of the following:

      1. A DD Form 1172-2 that has been digitally signed online by the Sponsor (using their CAC) via MilConnect.

      2. A DD Form 1172-2 that has been notarized by a licensed notary.

      3. A valid General or Special Power of Attorney.

  • To Add a New Spouse to DEERS: You must bring the original Marriage Certificate, the Spouse’s original Birth Certificate, their Social Security Card, and a valid Photo ID. (If either party was previously married, you must also bring the final, certified Divorce Decree).

  • To Add a Child or Stepchild to DEERS: You must bring the child's original Birth Certificate and Social Security Card. For stepchildren, you must also provide the Sponsor's Marriage Certificate linking the child to the Sponsor.

  • For College Students (Age 21-22): To renew an ID, you must provide a letter from the school's Registrar that certifies full-time enrollment and lists the anticipated graduation date.

  • For a Lost or Stolen ID: You must provide a completed Lost/Stolen Incident Report Form signed by the Sponsor OR a counseling statement from the Command.

  • For Sponsors (DAV, Retired, etc.): If you are enrolling for the first time as a Sponsor, you must bring specific eligibility documents, such as your DD Form 214 or a 100% Disabled Veteran rating letter from the VA.
