NEW COMMON ACCESS CARD CERTIFICATES

Email address updates to the CAC are required for those with a government cell phone, all other personnel do not require their email address and certificates to be updated at this time. Since these updates take time, appointments are required for this action. Please visit  ID Card Office Online (osd.mil) to make an appointment.

Starting March 19, 2022, the ID Card Offices will begin issuing CACs with certificates from the new DISA Certificate Authorities (CAs 62-69). Customers receiving their CAC after this date may experience issues with the certificates not being recognized, these issues need to be addressed with your IT person. DMDC issued a message with more information that you can retrieve here  Message of the Day (deps.mil).

Also, there is an influx of new employees (Military/Civilian/Contractors) who do not have an email address provisioned prior to making a CAC appointment. Please ensure that you have your organization’s DEPO Entitlement Manager provision your email account PRIOR to making a CAC appointment. Without an email address, we are unable to load your certificates needed to access websites and email, and you will need another appointment to have your CAC updated once you receive your email address.

Our Basic ProceduresCustomers are required to have an appointment.  Customers must present valid identification and required documentation at the scheduled appointment.  Sponsors must accompany their Family members at all times.  However, this facility does accept power of attorney in the absence of the Sponsor, or a DD Form 1172-2 that is generated by a DEERS/ID Cards Facility or online by visiting https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/self_service/rapids/ and follow the steps to generate a DD Form 1172-2. You must have a CAC reader to complete the DD Form 1172-2 online. The form has to be generated within 30 days prior to your appointment.

All individuals requesting a replacement for a lost or stolen CAC are required to present documentation from their local security office or CAC sponsor, confirming that the CAC has been reported lost or stolen.  The individual will still be required to produce two (2) valid forms of ID to acquire a new CAC.
