On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, remnants of Tropical Storm Olga impacted the area creating severe winds. Wind speeds on Fort Campbell were tracked in excess of 65 miles per hour. The weather caused a post-wide power outage, downed numerous trees, damaged buildings and more.

Outside of Fort Campbell, initially more than 40,000 homes and businesses were without power in Clarksville alone. As of Oct. 29, that number was down to more than 4,000. It took close to a week to restore power throughout all of Clarksville.

For our Soldiers and DoD employees experiencing ongoing issues related to the severe weather and concerned with being able to make it to work, contact your supervisor. “For students still impacted by outages, storm damage or transportation unavailability, absences will be counted as excused,” states information posted to the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Facebook page.

Gardner Pool provided support to our Soldiers, military Family members, and DoD ID card holders who live off post did not have access to hot water because of ongoing power outages, with free use of showers.

Army Emergency Relief, the American Red Cross, and numerous religious organizations throughout the area are resources to consider for those with needs due to storm-related impacts.

Individuals who have suffered property loss due to storm damage have two options concerning insurance claims – filing a personal insurance claim with a private insurance provider and filing a claim with the Army through the Center for Personnel Claims Support (CPCS). Visit the PCLAIMS Personnel CLaims Army Information Management System web page for information about filing a claim with the Army.

The Directorate of Public Works and Campbell Crossing continue to clear debris and make repairs. Roads are clear but we ask you continue to exercise caution while crews work. If you have damage to report in the barracks or admin buildings, please notify the DPW work order number at 270-798-1200. If you have damage in the housing area, notify the Campbell Crossing work order number at 931-431-3966. Campbell Crossing’s number for emergency work orders is 931-431-6029. The housing hotline is 270-956-4728 and is another resource to use to help immediate concerns be addressed.

We thank you for your patience as our teams continue to respond as quickly as possible to address remaining issues.
