Energy is an operational necessity as it is a foundational mission enabler. Constraints and threats to the supply of energy, water and other resources are growing in complexity. To address those challenges, Fort Buchanan developed an Installation Energy and Water Plan (IEWP) that will provide a roadmap for achieving increased security, resilience, readiness, and mission assurance, while also meeting federal and U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) requirements. This IEWP provides the goals, strategies, tasks, timeline, and responsible parties for the next 5 to 10 years of energy and water (E&W) management at Fort Buchanan.
