Captain David Byers is a native of Front Royal, Virgina. He commissioned into the United States Army through ROTC while attending Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.

CPT Byers’ previous assignments include: Platoon Leader and Executive Officer with the 411th Military Police Company, and Assistant S-4 and Law Enforcement Operations Officer with the 720th Military Police Battalion. His last assignment was the Operations Officer for the Fort Belvoir Directorate of Emergency Services on Fort Belvoir, Virgina.

CPT Byers’ military education includes the US Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia, The Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, Military Police Basic Officer Leaders’ Course, Antiterrorism Officer Basic Course, The CBRN Defense Course, the Unit Movement Officers’ Course, Fort Hood Executive Officer’s Course, and the Hazmat Awareness and Operations Courses.

CPT Byers’ civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and Spanish from Franciscan University and a Master of Science in History from Liberty University.

CPT Byers’ awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4 Oak Leaf Cluster), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, German Armed Forces Badge (in Gold), Norwegian Foot March Badge (in Bronze), and the Parachutist’s Badge

Captain Byers met his wife (Carly) in junior High School at Seton School in Manassas, Virginia, and they have been married since 2015. They have three children: Benjamin (6), Lucia (3), and a newborn, Fiona. They currently reside in Woodbridge, Virginia.
