Purpose:The purpose is to train enlisted, warrant officer and officer personnel to function as a CBRN Reconnaissance Specialist with the Brigade Combat Team (BCT) CBRN Reconnaissance Platoon.
Prerequisites:Personnel applying to attend this course must be: Active Army (AA), United States Army Reserve (USAR), Army National Guard (ARNG), Enlisted (PVT-SFC), Warrant Officer (WO1 – CW2), Commissioned Officer (2LT-1LT), personnel qualified in MOS 74D, 740A or AOC 74A. Military Occupation Specialty -Transition (MOS-T) are not eligible to attend this course. Personnel assigned or on orders to a duty position requiring award of ASl-L6 have priority for this course. All personnel attending must have in their possession an APFT Card (DA Form 705) showing they have passed a record APFT within 30 days of course attendance, (60 days for USAR/ARNG Soldiers) a Body Fat Content Worksheet (DA Form 5500/5501) that corresponds with the record APFT (if applicable), a valid state driver's license, an Operator Qualification Record (DA Form 348/348-E), and a copy of permanent profile (if applicable). USAR/ARNG Soldiers are additionally required to bring TRADOC Form 350-18-2, The Army School System (TASS) Unit Pre-Execution Checklist.Soldiers failing to provide required attendance documentation during in-processing will immediately be referred to the chain of command for course dismissal decision. All students attending the L6 course must meet the physical requirements of the course. They must not possess a temporary profile.Female Soldiers who are pregnant or who subsequently are informed of their pregnancy while enrolled, will be eliminated from the course.
Special Information:August 2016, the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Programs Evaluation recommended the USACBRNS L6 course earn the following; In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 1 semester hour in laboratory sampling methodologies, 1 in air monitoring sampling, and 1 in general safety.
