The National De-certification Index (NDI) is hosted by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST). Subscriber agencies, such as DoD POST, may access that database in order to pre-screen candidates seeking law enforcement military occupational specialties or civilian (GS-0083 or 1800-series) law enforcement jobs. Individuals serving within a DoD POST agency who commit crimes and are convicted accordingly will have their names and profile data entered into the NDI in hopes it will prevent them from ever holding another public trust position. Although a legal process exists to have NDI listing purged from the database, the intent is to aggressively enforce national police reform policies and prevent individuals who are fired or given an opportunity to resign from a law enforcement position only to join another law enforcement agency and commit the same crimes or moral turpitude offenses. The Office of Accreditation and Credentialing (OAC) will manage the NDI effort for DoD POST.
