Fort Detrick Fire and Emergency Services Department is a leader in the Department of Defense. We proudly protect a diverse community, which is rated as one of the safest in the nation. This Department provides unique services protecting Soldiers, Families, and Civilians in a wide variety of facilities from family housing to laboratories that explore ways to improve the nation's health and fight cancer. We provide fire protection, crash fire and rescue, emergency medical services, confined space rescue and hazardous materials incident mitigation.
Career Firefighters at Fort Detrick administer local public fire education and a proactive facility inspection campaigns. Fort Detrick also provides mutual aid in parts of Frederick City and Frederick County.
