5/20/25, 8:21 AM	5/20/25, 8:21 AM	Fort Detrick to Celebrate 250th Army Birthday with Special Events	Fort Detrick will commemorate the U.S. Army’s 250th Birthday with a series of special celebrations honoring the Army’s legacy of service and sacrifice. These events will take place throughout June, offering soldiers, families, and the local community an opportunity to reflect on the Army’s rich history and enduring traditions. The festivities will begin with an Opening Ceremony on June 3 at 9:00 a.m. in the auditorium. The ceremony will officially kick off the celebrations with remarks and tributes to the Army’s legacy. On June 13 at 12:30 p.m., the Fort Detrick community will gather in the auditorium for the traditional Army Birthday Cake Cutting Ceremony. In keeping with tradition, the installation’s oldest and youngest soldiers will join Garrison Commander Col. Chris Chung for the ceremonious cutting. Immediately following the cake cutting, attendees are invited to explore the Heritage Displays within the auditorium. Later that day, at 3:00 p.m., a Retreat Ceremony will mark the end of the day’s celebrations. The ceremony will begin with opening comments, followed by a Re-Enlistment Ceremony, an Enlistment Ceremony, and an Army Emergency Relief Campaign announcement. The commemoration will conclude with the Retreat and lowering of the National Colors, honoring the Army’s longstanding traditions and commitment to service. Fort Detrick welcomes all members of the military community to take part in these historic celebrations as we pay tribute to the U.S. Army’s remarkable 250-year journey

Emergency and telework ready employees required to work must follow their agency's policies, including written telework agreements. Forest Glen Annex employees follow OPM guidance. At Fort Detrick only Nallin Farm Gate is open. At Forest Glenn Annex, Brookville Gate is open.
1/6/25, 4:53 PM	1/6/25, 4:53 PM	OPERATING STATUS FOR TUESDAY JAN 7, 2025	Due to weather Ft. Detrick will be on a 2-hour delay, Tuesday Jan. 7, 2025. Emergency and telework ready employees required to work must follow their organizations policies, including written telework agreements. Forest Glen personnel should follow OPM guidance. Contact your supervisor for more information. Personnel should conduct risk assessments and check with their chain of command for additional instructions or questions related to their unique circumstances. Mission essential employees will contact their supervisor for reporting instructions. Contractor personnel must consult with their COR and/or company management for policies and procedures to follow as a result of a delay tomorrow. The Child Development Centers and Youth programs will be open at 0800, Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025. All gates will operate at normal hours. Installation updates will be shared with local media, the digital garrison app and social media, the ALERT system and our website.

We are noticing an increase of walk ins, to request a new ID/CAC or waiting to the last minute to schedule an appointment and there are none available. Don't let your ID/CAC expire and book an appointment up to 90 days prior to it's expiration. Our ID Cards Office fills up quickly as we service the Tri-State area.
