The JBLM Physical Security Office provides risk assessments, program compliance inspections, intrusion detection design; and installation, maintenance, and monitoring for both Army and USAF units on Lewis Main, Lewis North, McChord Field and Yakima Training Center. The PSO also assists service members, family members, and Department of Defense civilians in the protection, physical security and loss prevention of personnel, assets, weapons and equipment for all units assigned to the installation. The PSO also hosts the JBLM Physical Security Council.

Requesting a Courtesy Inspection:
Intent: The intent of DOD's Physical Security Program is the protection of property
and personnel to ensure that units are able to perform their primary mission. To
assist commanders with complying with Physical Security requirements, the JBLM
DES PSO will conduct a courtesy inspection of a unit's program. Unit commanders
may contact their assigned inspector to request a courtesy inspection. This should be
done 90 days prior to a scheduled inspection for record. The PSO will not conduct a
courtesy inspection within 21 days of a scheduled inspection for record.
