(60th Infantry relieved Aug. 15, 1927 from assignment to the 5th Division and assigned to the 8th Division; relieved Oct. 1 1933 from assignment to the 8th Division and assigned to the 5th Division; relieved Oct. 16, 1939 from assignment to the 5th Division; assigned Aug. 1, 1940 to the 9th Division [later redesignated as the 9th Infantry Division])
