Five-Year Reviews

Purpose and Process

Five-Year Reviews are conducted in accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), which is more commonly known as Superfund. The U.S. Army conducts each review and prepares each Five-Year Review Report in cooperation with the EPA, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Adams County Health Department.

The purpose of the review is to assess the ongoing protectiveness of the remedy for human health and the environment. A multiagency team also evaluates whether any changes to environmental standards that affect the site have occurred within the past five years. 2025 Draft Final Report Available for Public Review

The U.S. Army recently prepared its sixth, Five-Year Review (FYR) draft final report for Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA).

In keeping with its commitment to public involvement, the Army is seeking input on this report, which is available for review below. All public comments received in writing by Aug. 3, 2026, will be reviewed and considered in the final report as part of RMA’s site record.
