Public Affairs Office

pao.pngPublic affairs fulfills the Army's obligation to keep the American people and the Army informed and helps to establish the conditions that lead to confidence in America's Army and its readiness to conduct operations in peacetime, conflict and war. Every member of the Army team contributes to effective PA. The Soldier is the most effective communicator of the Army story. The primary PA functional areas are command information, public information, community relations, ceremonies and multimedia visual information.

Ceremonies and Events Team

The Fort Carson Ceremonies and Events Team is the primary source for scheduling and coordinating all command ceremonies and events. The team also controls the scheduling for Founders Parade Field, Founders Plaza, Manhart Field and Pershing Field for all events other than ceremonies. Additionally, all retiring military members must coordinate with the C&E Team for participation in the monthly retirement ceremony.

Command Information

The Fort Carson Command Information section of the Public Affairs Office is responsible for all aspects of internal communications, including the Mountain Post online news site, and is the review component of the Fort Carson website.

  • The Mountain Post

The Mountain Post is Fort Carson's online news site. It contains the latest news coverage of events on topics affecting Fort Carson. It can be found on the Fort Carson homepage here.

Community Relations

The Community Relations section of Public Affairs supports the communities of the Colorado Front Range in coordinating Soldier support of parades, ceremonies and large community events. We also provide tours to large groups and speakers for community events.

Media Relations

Fort Carson is a non-public news gathering forum and as such, all civilian media must have approval and an escort prior to entering the installation. The Media Relations section typically makes arrangements to meet civilian media prior to their arrival at the Main Gate of Fort Carson.

Multimedia Visual Information (MVI)

Multimedia Visual Information provides field photography and videographic coverage of historic Fort Carson ceremonies and events, studio photography to include official DA and command photos, and photo prints of the entire chain of command.
