Visitor Access Requirements

Visitors can apply online for a pass from their computer or mobile device at https://pass.aie.army.mil. After completing the pre-registration application by entering their information, including a U.S. driver’s license, SSN, and good contact number (capable of receiving SMS messaging), they will be notified whether their pass is approved or denied. If approved the applicant may then present their driver’s license at the gate for scanning. If an applicant is denied, they may contact the Visitor Control Center for more information about their situation at 719-526-2332.

A sponsor is not required when applying for a pass online but does require a valid purpose for visiting Fort Carson. This could include visiting Family or friends, food delivery, medical appointment or attending a ceremony.

Family Member or Friend (Non-DOD ID card holder) of a DOD ID card holder

Family Member or Friend (Non-DOD ID card holder) of a DOD ID card holder

  • Visitor must be initially accompanied to the Visitor Control Center by a DOD ID card holder acting as their sponsor. This sponsor must be assigned to a unit on Fort Carson, live on Fort Carson or otherwise have routine access.

  • If the Family member or friend requires recurring access (2-3 times per week) or a pass between 30 days and 1 year in duration, their sponsor must have a completed and digitally signed FC Form 2036-E, prior to the visitor going to the Visitor Control Center.

  • DOD ID card holders unable to digitally sign (e.g. retirees and Family members) documents may ink sign a typed form while present at the visitor center.

  • Visitor must have REAL ID-compliant identification (see Acceptable Forms of Visitor ID below).

  • Should the service member be deployed or TDY, any DOD ID card holder (e.g. spouse; sibling above the age of 18) can serve as a sponsor.

NOTE: In all cases a sponsor must be assigned to Fort Carson or resident of the local area.

Convenience Delivery Drivers

Convenience Delivery Drivers

The garrison commander has authorized delivery drivers of convenience (rideshares and food delivery) to process and receive an extended installation access pass for up to 1 year. Passenger and food delivery drivers will have the opportunity to apply for and receive a 30-day access pass, for unescorted access. Prior to being issued this pass they must:

a. Show proof of employment as a passenger service or delivery program; this proof can be electronic from a smartphone or other device.

b. Undergo the required vetting process in accordance with Army Regulation 190-13. An applicant who fails the vetting process, may request a waiver of the denial in accordance with Army Regulation 190-13.

c. Every time the driver enters the installation, they must show proof of a fare along with their installation issued pass and, if requested, their driver's license. All other access control procedures remain in effect.

NOTE: Uber drivers are encouraged to communicate their access to the installation with Uber to receive appropriate trait information within their Uber profile.

Hunting & Fishing

Hunting & Fishing

  • DOD ID card holders, VA card holders and non-DOD card holders are eligible to hunt on Fort Carson and Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site (PCMS). To hunt on post or PCMS, hunters must have a valid Fort Carson recreation permit, a valid Colorado Parks and Wildlife hunt tag, have their firearms registered on post and have a valid downrange pass. They must also complete the annual recreation safety brief.

  • Information and registration information to hunt on post or PCMS is on the iSportsman website at https://fortcarson.isportsman.net. For information on obtaining the required Colorado state hunting licenses, visit http://cpw.state.co.us.

  • Non-DOD card holders must check in at the Visitor Control Center at Freedom Gate (Gate 1) with all hunting credentials before going downrange. They will undergo a criminal background check before getting access to the installation and will be issued a Fort Carson installation pass after passing the check.
