Helpful Tips

  • The Military Postal Service is connected to USPS only. However, if you elect to use outside services such as APO Box, FedEx, UPS or other services, please beware of major delays.
  • Please check your mailbox on a regular basis as mailboxes can get full quickly.
  • When ordering items, under country, put USA.
  • You are authorized to send up to $100.00 customs tax free per individual to the U.S.
  • You can not purchase money orders with a credit card
  • When the postage rates change, your "Forever" stamps automatically become worth the new value.
  • Putting a stamp on MPS (APO) mail is a waste of money. It will not make it move quicker.
  • You must place your full name in the return address.
  • You must show your U.S. military ID card that authorizes you postal privileges.

Community Mail Room (CMR) / Postal Service Center (PSC)

The Community Mail Rooms are open 24/7. The parcel pick-up window is only open during designated hours (check your location for hours of operation). All recipients must present a valid U.S. military ID card to pick up packages.

Official Mail

The Official Mail Distribution Center is available for units, within the community, to send and receive official mail correspondence and parcels. Please contact your servicing APO for official mail hours.
