Chièvres Air Base (USAG Benelux Headquarters) / SHAPE
The town of Chièvres, Belgium, has a population of about 7,000 inhabitants. Located in the province of Hainaut in south-west Belgium, it falls in the region of Wallonia – one of the three primary regions of Belgium along with Flanders and Brussels. The primary language spoken in the area is French.
Chièvres Air Base
Chièvres Air Base, also referred to as SHAPE Airfield at Chièvres Air Base, is a NATO airfield operated by U.S. Air Force. It is an approximately 25-minute drive from Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), in Casteau, Belgium. Infrastructure support is provided by USAG Benelux, which is headquartered on the base.
Supreme Headquarters of Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE)
SHAPE is an international, joint community composed of members of all 30 NATO countries. It is the headquarters of NATO Allied Command Operations, which is commanded by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe. The base is also home some USAG Benelux support functions, the SHAPE International School and the SHAPE Healthcare Facility.

USAG Benelux - Brussels
The Brussels-Capital Region is located in the center of Belgium and borders both the Dutch (Flanders) and French (Wallonia) speaking regions of the country. It has a population of over 1.2 million. Brussels is home to many international organizations including the European Union and NATO.
USAG Benelux - Brussels
USAG Benelux - Brussels is a small community supporting the garrison within the Brussels-Capital Region. Most garrison staff are located at the main campus with a few located at the secondary site - Sterrebeek Annex.
Sterrebeek Annex
Sterrebeek Annex holds some garrison functions, but is primarily home to the Brussels American School and the Brussels Health Clinic. Sterrebeek Annex is a 10-minute drive from the main USAG Benelux-Brussels campus.
Army Prepositioned Stock-2 Zutendaal
Zutendaal Army Depot is located in Zutendaal, Belgium. It provides infrastructure and equipment support for the European portion of the Army Prepositioned Stocks program, a cornerstone of the Army’s ability to rapidly project power around the globe.

USAG Benelux - Brunssum
Brunssum is a town located in the municipality of Limburg in the Netherlands. Known for its coal mining until the 1970s, it now holds a population of about 28,000 residents. The primary language spoken in the area is Dutch. Due to the close proximity to the Belgian and German borders, the military community there is commonly referred to as the “Tri-Border Community”.
USAG Benelux - Brunssum
USAG Benelux - Brunssum is a part of USAG Benelux located in the Netherlands. In addition to providing traditional garrison services, it also supports two Army Pre-positioned Stock sites - Eygelshoven, the Netherlands (approximately 10-minute drive) and Zutendaal, Belgium (approximately 30-minute drive).
JFC Brunssum
Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum is a NATO command with its headquarters at Brunssum, the Netherlands. Located very close to USAG Benelux-Brunssum, many support services can be found on this base. The AFNORTH International School is also located on a nearby annex.
NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen
NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen (GK) hosts NATO’s Airborne Early Warning and Control Force and the alliance’s E-3A Component. Located close to USAG Benelux-Brunssum, some support services and the Geilenkirchen U.S. Clinic are located on the base.

Dülmen Tower Barracks
Dülmen is a small town located 45 minutes north of the city areas of Dortmund/Essen/Dusseldorf/Cologne and 25 minutes south of the city of Münster. It has a population of 47,000 and is located in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). It is an old city dating from 1311 and is noted for its annual wild horse roundup. The APS-2 Dülmen Work Site (DWS) is located on the NW corner of the city of Dülmen.
Army Prepositioned Stock-2 Dülmen
Dülmen Tower Barracks is a small community supported by USAG Benelux It provides infrastructure and equipment support for the European portion of the Army Prepositioned Stocks program, a cornerstone of the Army’s ability to rapidly project power around the globe. As the only USAG Benelux facility in Germany, it is geographically separated from most garrison services. Therefore, support functions for the site are located across multiple installations in the Netherlands and Germany:
- USAG Benelux-Brunssum, the Netherlands (Approximately 2.5-hour drive)
- NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen, Germany (Approximately 2.5-hour drive)
- USAG Weisbaden, Germany (Approximately 3.5-hour drive)
- Kaiserslautern Military Community, Germany (Approximately 4-hour drive, but due to traffic along the route it can take upwards of 5 hours)
