Arbor Day at APG as well as in the State of Maryland is celebrated this year on April 6, 2022. Annual recognition will be given to APG for receiving awards from the National Arbor Day Foundation (NADF) and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service (MDDNR FS) for our continued sustainable forest management and outstanding urban tree care. With over 18,000 acres of forest, thousands of urban trees, 50 Year Forest Management Plan and standing as the second largest single forested landowner in the State of Maryland (second only to the State itself) this is a monumental task. The Installation is celebrating our 17th Tree City Award (NADF), 15th Growth Award (NADF) and 16th People Nurturing and Loving Trees (PLANT) Award (MDDNR FS).
