CID is an independent federal law enforcement agency consisting of nearly 3,000 personnel assigned to 124 world-wide locations, responsible for felony criminal investigations and operations; war crimes and terrorism investigations, criminal intelligence collection and analysis; cybercrime investigations and operations; multi-dimensional forensic support; and protective service operations for the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and other high risk personnel.
Directorate of Emergency Services (DES): Provide quality force protection, law enforcement, physical security, access control, Fire & Emergency services, and Police and Community Liaison Services to the Community. Provide oversight on installation law enforcement standards and initiatives for personnel, equipment and training. DES provides support in the areas of Law Enforcement, Fire and Emergency Services, Physical Security, Surety, Antiterrorism and Emergency Management to protect property and the workforce. The DES consists of Law Enforcement (LE), Physical Security (PS), Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) and Protection (P). Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) Branch covers Incident Command and mitigation of all Installation emergency responses, Emergency Dispatch Centers, All-Hazard response operations, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting operations, and Fire Prevention/Public Education Programs.
Directs, coordinates, synchronizes, and integrates installation operations and training support activities, while providing force protection, mobilization and demobilization, reserve component training support, force modernization, operational planning, and emergency operations functions to provide a focused operating and training environment for the Senior Commander and tenant organizations.
Directorate of Public Works (DPW): The DPW is the Garrison's primary element for maintenance of the installation, infrastructure, and the environment. DPW consists of five Public Works Divisions: Master Planning; Business Operations and Integration; Housing Management; Environment and Natural Resources; and Engineering / Energy. DPW encompasses the review of work classification and technical adequacy of all projects; reviews and validates submission of Military Construction (MILCON) projects for all construction and renovations development occurring on the Installation; manages IMCOM's Sustainment Restoration and Moderation (SRM) projects approved and funded for each fiscal year; updates Real Property assets, allowances, requirements, and programmed construction data in a variety of databases; provides day-to-day sustainment and maintenance support for the installation tenant activities; monitors and ensures all work and military-training activities are accomplished incompliance with Federal and State Environmental requirements / regulations; and provides oversight for all Quality of Life requirements for Housing all Service Members and their Families residing on the installation or in the local community.

The Army Community Service (ACS) Information, Referral, and Follow-Up (I&R) Program provides commanders, soldiers and families with information regarding military and civilian community resources. Our trained staff will give clients any information or assistance they may need or will refer them to the appropriate agency that can best help them.
The legal office provides legal services to service members and their families to include claims, legal assistance, tax preparation, magistrate issues (including tickets), military justice, and administrative, civil, or labor law (including investigating officer appointments).
Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic's mission is to be stewards of military readiness and to enhance the health and resilience of all entrusted to our care. We offer Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Preventive Medicine, Physical Therapy, Laboratory, Radiology, and Pharmacy services to service members and their families, retirees, and DoD civilians. The PAIO team of Management and Program Analysts are responsible for conducting installation strategic planning, providing information management support, and performance evaluation of base operations, essential services, and programs in support of Aberdeen Proving Ground Soldiers, Families, Civilians, and Retirees.
The Public Affairs Office supports the installation by communicating on behalf of the installation and its leadership - providing clear, accurate, timely information to internal & external audiences. We employ a variety of communication strategies- including internal news and information products, media engagement, and public outreach.
Ready Army is the Army’s proactive campaign to increase the resilience of the Army community and enhance the readiness of the force by informing Soldiers, their Families, Army Civilians and contractors of relevant hazards and encouraging them to Be Informed, Make A Plan, Build a Kit and Get Involved. Through outreach and education, Ready Army calls our Army community to action and aims to create a culture of preparedness that will save lives and strengthen the nation.
Provide religious staff advisement to the Garrison Commander, allocate resources (to include Unit Ministry Teams) in support of Installation contingencies, supervise Chapel programs, facilitate Chaplain-Corps specific training for Corps personnel, participate in the Community Health Promotion Council.
Provides quality service regarding benefits, entitlements, information and referral to retirees, their families as well as active duty Soldiers and their families preparing for retirement. The Retirement Services Office advises and supports the APG Retiree Council, develops public support of Army Retirement Programs and informs the retired community of upcoming events of interest.
The Army Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is the Army's Transition Program responsible for providing Soldiers with the counseling, employment and education workshops, and seminars required to achieve the law and policy Career Readiness Standards (CRS) mandated compliance. TAP has undergone a re-engineering in order to "prepare" and "connect" Soldiers to ensure the greatest opportunities for successful personal and career achievement upon transition from active duty.
The APG Veterinary Clinic team is dedicated to assisting retirees and active duty and reserve soldiers with taking care of your four-legged friends. The services the clinic provides are wellness exams, vaccines, minor sick call exams including ear and skin infections, external laboratory tests, heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention, and more.
Visitors, contractors and vendors 18 years and older, entering Aberdeen Proving Ground, who do not have a DoD identification card, will be subject to a background check before being allowed entry to the installation. Those who present a common access card (CAC card), Military ID, Military Dependent ID, Gold Star ID, or other valid DoD credential won't be affected.
