Engineer Captains Career Course - Reserve Component (ECCC-RC)
Due to the recent developments with COVID-19, ECCC-RC classes 003-20 (Phase 1), 003-20 (Phase 3), 004-20 (Phase 1), 004-20 (Phase 3), 005-20 (Phase 1), and 005-20 (Phase 3) have been cancelled.
Classes 201-20 (Phase 1) and 201-20 (Phase 3) have been created as a 28 day blended course in ATRRS and are available for enrollment. Class 201-20 (Phase 3) is scheduled to start on 28 August 2020 and complete on 11 September 2020. Class 201-20 (Phase 1) is scheduled to start on 11 September 2020 and complete on 25 September 2020. Students MUST enroll in both phases to attend this 28 day course. The ATRRS rosters will continually be scrubbed to ensure that students have enrolled in both Phase 1 and Phase 3. When enrolling into the 28 day blended course, students must enroll and have a valid reservation in Phase 1 prior to enrolling in Phase 3. A minimum of ten (10) students must be enrolled in the blended course NLT seven (7) days prior to the course start date in order to execute the course. Once enrolled in the course, a welcome letter will be sent out 30 days prior to the start of the course with reporting instructions. The welcome letter will also be posted on the webpage and students will be enrolled in the courses on blackboard and can begin reviewing course material.
Fiscal Year 21 is currently planned to have five (5) 28 day blended courses starting in October. ATRRS is not allowing FY21 course dates to be scheduled at this time. Once the issue is resolved, the 28 day blended course schedules will be updated and available for reservation.
28 Day Blended Course Overview:
Fort Leonard Wood mandates a 14 day restricted movement for people who are not ill but have recently completed travel. They are monitored for 14 days as they have restricted limited movement around post. This is defined as IHG areas, GLWACH (for non-COVID-19 care), Harper Clinic, and designated PT areas. During the 14 days of restricted movement, students will receive POI training via synchronized virtual learning. After the restricted movement period, POI instruction will be delivered through traditional classroom methods with social distancing mitigations in place.
These courses are currently restricted to those who have not already completed Phase 1 (Resident). This restriction will be lifted when the 14 day restricted movement period is no longer a requirement, which is currently unknown.
Students do not have to be Phase 1 or Phase 2 complete to attend this 28 day combined course. Students should come to this course with a CAC enabled laptop that is Microsoft Teams capable (a camera and microphone are required). Students will also be required to stay for the entire 28 day course due to the blended nature of the curriculum.
Additionally, we are receiving a lot of questions regarding students who only require Phase 3 to be PME complete. We understand their concerns. The Commandant is currently soliciting feedback from Component 2 and 3 leadership on proposed courses of actions to address this population. We ask that you be patient as we navigate through these unprecedented times and continue to work towards a solution that will facilitate all students.
This webpage is updated frequently and contains the most up-to-date information on changes to the course. It is strongly recommend that students continually monitor this site.
