Recycling Resources

U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden supports more than 12,500 Soldiers, civilians, Family members, and retirees, all of whom generate waste as a part of daily life. Each year almost 8,000 tons of trash and recyclable materials are collected from the garrison.

Local host nation law mandates recycling and as guests on-post and off-post residents must comply with these laws. Properly sorting waste into recyclable fractions saves energy, reduces air pollution, decreases greenhouse gas emissions, and saves money. The following resources provide guidance for sorting and recycling in Germany.
