Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Rashad A. Adams enlisted in the United States Army on October 24, 2002, after graduating from high school in Champaign, Illinois. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and served two years as a 92G. He would later re-entered the military in August 2007 to become a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Analyst (35N) at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas. He recently served as the Brigade Operations Sergeant Major of the 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade (E-MIB) at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM), Washington. He has supported operations overseas in Korea, Germany, Poland, Philippines, and Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom.

CSM Adams has completed every level of the NCO Professional Development System and is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants’ Major Academy (Class 73). He holds an Associate of Arts in Military Intelligence Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Workforce Development and Exercise Science, and a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies. His individual decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), Army Commendation Medal (4th award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), Good Conduct Medal (7th award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Ribbon, Noncommissioned Professional Development Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the NATO Medal. He also earned the Drill Sergeant Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge, and Basic Aviation Badge.

CSM Adams’ previous leadership assignments include roles as a Squad Leader, Mission/Flight Supervisor, Senior Intel Analyst, Special Operations Teams-Alpha (SOT-A) 1202 Assistant Team Sergeant, Special Operations Teams Bravo (SOT-B) 1200 Team leader,  SIGINT Chief, Drill Sergeant, S3 Operations NCOIC, First Sergeant, Division G-37 Training, Readiness, and Exercise (TREX) NCOIC, I Corps All-Source Collection Element (ACE) NCOIC, and the 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence (E-MIB) Brigade OPS Sergeant Major. 

CSM Adams is married with two children and is an active Military Intelligence Corps Association member and recipient of the Knowlton Award.
