Mission:
The Equal Employment Opportunity Office provides an effective Equal Employment Opportunity program at the U.S. Army Garrison, Presidio of Monterey (USAG POM) which promotes an environment free from unlawful discrimination. Discriminatory harassment consists of treatment – either less favorable or different – based on the following protected categories: age (over forty years), color, disability, sex (male or female and pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), genetic information, national origin, race, and/or religion. Reprisal can manifest as unfavorable treatment, punishment, or harassment for protected activity (i.e., past or present EEO complaint or witness participation).
Goals:
- Equal Employment Opportunity is institutionalized as an integral part of the USAG POM mission.
- A work environment free of unlawful discrimination.
- A work force that values its employees.
- EEO professionals who are responsive to the concerns of USAG POM leaders and employees.
- EEO professionals who are experts in their field.
