Command Sgt. Maj. Adam Bossart

CSM Adam Bossart serves as the Command Sergeant Major, United States Army Garrison Presidio of Monterey. A native of Minnesota, he enlisted in the Army in 2003 as a Spanish Cryptologic Language Analyst (MOS 35P). CSM Bossart is now a Military Intelligence Sergeant Major. 

CSM Bossart has served in a variety of diverse leadership positions ranging from Team Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Military Language Instructor, Chief Military Language Instructor, Special Operations Team-Alpha (SOT-A) Team Leader, Detachment Sergeant, Signals Intelligence Chief, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, Operations Sergeant Major, Army Cryptologic Office Sergeant Major, and Battalion Command Sergeant Major. 

CSM Bossart’s previous assignments include Lackland Airforce Base, Texas with the 717th Military Intelligence Battalion; Fort Liberty, North Carolina with 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Presidio of Monterey, California with the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC); Eglin Air Force Base, Florida with the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne); and Fort George G. Meade, Maryland with both the 781st Military Intelligence Battalion (Cyber) and the 704th Military Intelligence Brigade. His most recent assignment was at Fort Liberty, North Carolina where he served as Command Sergeant Major for the 319th Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion (Division). He has deployed once to Colombia and twice in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan. 

CSM Bossart’s military and civilian education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System through the United States Army Sergeants Major Course, Pre-Command Courses, CSM Development Programs, Basic Arborne Course and Master Resilience Trainer Course. He holds a Master of Science degree in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. 

CSM Bossart’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2nd award), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), Army Commendation Medal (2nd award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), Basic Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge, the Military Intelligence Corps Association’s Knowlton Award, and additional service medals and qualification badges.
