The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) serves the Soldiers, Civilians, and Families at Fort McCoy and within a 19-state area of the northwestern United States. The OIG provides a continuous assessment of operational and administrative effectiveness by determining the discipline, efficiency, economy, morale, training, and readiness of the 88th RD, Fort McCoy, and all supported units.

The core functions of the OIG are to assist, inspect, investigate, and teach and train. It is the right of any person to contact the OIG for assistance; however, complainants are encouraged to attempt to resolve issues through their chain of command before seeking inspector general support.
