The mission of Public Affairs is to fulfill the Army's obligation to keep the American people and Army personnel informed and to establish the conditions that lead to confidence in America's Army and its readiness to conduct operations in peacetime, conflict and war.
The Public Affairs Office establishes and conducts specific operational programs designed to inform both internal audiences (the entire installation community) and external audiences (the general public) about the Army and Fort McCoy activities, events, missions and policies. Examples include responsibility for media relations, the installation newspaper, and community outreach/engagement and the History Center/Commemorative Area. Fort McCoy and The Media
Fort McCoy is a non-public news gathering forum and as such, all civilian media must have approval and escort prior to entering Fort McCoy. The Public Affairs Office typically makes arrangements to meet civilian media prior to their arrival at the Main Gate of Fort McCoy.
Media interested in covering Fort McCoy activities should call the Public Affairs Office at 608-388-4209 to discuss upcoming media opportunities.
