After nearly six months of being closed, we are sure you are just as excited as we are! We do have many COVID-19 mitigation measures in place to keep us all healthy as we come back together again, including:
- Face masks are required.
- Social distancing and maximum attendance is in place. Check the Facebook page of the chapel service you would like to attend for reservation information.
- Childcare is not currently available. Religious Education classes and Auuxiliary groups are not currently meeting.
- Hand shaking and fellowship times is not currently taking place.
We ask that if you are feeling ill, have a fever, or have been in contact with a COVID-19 positive individual, please stay home. It may sound like a lot of restrictions, but these measures will allow us to continue meeting safely in person.
For those not ready to return to in-person services just yet, we will be live streaming many of chapel worship services and continuing to provide other virtual opportunities for personal worship. Visit our ⚠ Facebook page, as well as our ⚠ YouTube Page [jblmchap] where you will find a diverse library of sermons, music, prayer and other resources to support your personal faith practices.
All service members stationed at JBLM and their family members have an assigned chaplain. Please contact them first when you are in need of chaplain support. If you do not know who your chaplain is, please call the Religious Support Office at 253-967-3718 or e-mail us for assistance.
If you are in immediate need of chaplain support and unable to reach your chaplain, or if you're dealing with an emergency outside regular duty hours, you can reach the On-Call Duty Chaplain by calling 253-967-0015.
The JBLM RSO oversees and operates nine chapels, including three on Lewis Main, three on McChord Field and one on Lewis North. For a complete list of JBLM chapels and directions to each location, please visit the chapels page.
JBLM provides diverse religious services for Soldiers, Airmen, families and veterans - including a variety of Protestant worship services (liturgical, contemporary, traditional, and gospel), Roman Catholic mass, confession and other programs, as well as services for the Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist and Wiccan faith traditions. For a complete list of chapel services, please visit the worship service schedule page.
All chapel worship services host Bible studies and/or Sunday school classes, as well as regular and special mid-week events, prayer breakfasts and luncheons. In addition to these programs, the RSO has many auxiliary programs such as Protestant Women of the Chapel, Catholic Women of the Chapel, Awana (children/youth), Mothers of Preschoolers, and Officers Christian Fellowship. There is something to meet the spiritual and religious needs of everyone. Please contact us to let us get you connected to what you are looking for!
