Our Mission
The Human Resources Directorate integrates and delivers the full spectrum of Human Capital Program management and human resource base support services that enable readiness for a globally responsive Army. The DHR is responsible for Military Personnel Services, Soldier Education and Transition Services, Army Substance and Abuse Services, Postal Services, Administrative Services, Command Civilian Personnel Issues, and creating a Professional Installation Management Workforce. We continue to improve upon our human capital strategy that manages, retains and rewards a performance-based organization and high-quality workforce.
Army Continuing Education System (ACES)
The Army Continuing Education System (ACES) mission is "To vigorously promote lifelong learning opportunities to sharpen the competitive edge of the Army by providing and managing quality self-development programs and services."
Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) Services
The Armed Forces Substance Abuse Prevention program provides education & early intervention to help commanders, civilian supervisors, and the Camp Zama community reduce lifestyle risk factors to increase healthy outcomes. We are committed to understanding our supported units and their missions, anticipating what is needed to sustain mission readiness, and proudly serving as a valued member of the Commander’s battle staff.
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a law that gives you the right to access information from the federal government. It is often described as the law that keeps citizens in the know about their government.
The various agencies within the Military Personnel Division are responsible for providing installation level personnel services to military personnel within Camp Zama.
Our mission is to ensure enrollment in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and provide Common Access Cards (CAC) and/or Official Identification Cards to Soldiers, Family members, Retirees as well as Civilian and Contract Employees.
Installation Passport/Visa Office
Passport/Visa support provided by the United States Department of Defense (DOD) by assisting DOD Service Members, Civilians and Family Members in obtaining the official travel documents necessary to facilitate official government travel.
Retirement Services Office (RSO)
The Retirement Services Office educates Soldiers and Family Members about their retirement benefits and entitlements, and provides the information needed to make appropriate and timely decisions for themselves and their Families. The Retirement Services Officer provides pre-retirement briefings, retirement information support, and mandatory Survivor Benefit Plan counseling. It also publishes local retiree bulletins and supports the Installation Retiree Council.
Casualty Assistance Center (CAC)
The Casualty Assistance Center provides compassionate, unwavering commitment to the families of our fallen Soldiers, retirees and veterans. Casualty Assistance provides assistance to next-of-kin of critically injured, ill or deceased Army Soldiers, retirees and veterans to include benefits counseling, military funeral honors and Casualty Assistance/Notification Officer (CAO/CNO) training.
