Environmental Division
The DPW Environmental Division, part of the Directorate of Public Works, is committed to environmental excellence in all aspects of the USAG Italy mission. The Environmental Division is responsible for management of air quality, water quality (drinking water, wastewater, and storm water), environmental restoration, hazardous materials, solid/hazardous waste, natural resources and cultural resources programs.
Environmental Division Mission
The USAG Italy Environmental Division ensures compliance with all environmental laws and regulations, and provides environmental expertise, guidance, support and liaison services for Army organizations and personnel. We are here to assist the USAG Italy community.
Solid Waste
- The Operation and Maintenance Division manages solid waste generated on USAG Italy. Recycling of solid waste is required by Italian law, and the USAG Italy facilities where recycling can be conducted are called Eco Centers. USAG Italy Eco Centers provide recycling containers for almost all products and offer free turn-in of household items. Link to Informational Flyers
- Hazardous substances and electronic waste should be turned into the Hazard Waste Storage Area and not disposed of at the Eco Centers or in home refuse bins.
