Environmental Division
The DPW Environmental Division, part of the Directorate of Public Works, is committed to environmental excellence in all aspects of the USAG Italy mission. The Environmental Division is responsible for management of air quality, water quality (drinking water, wastewater, and storm water), environmental restoration, hazardous materials, solid/hazardous waste, natural resources and cultural resources programs.
Environmental Division Mission
The USAG Italy Environmental Division ensures compliance with all environmental laws and regulations, and provides environmental expertise, guidance, support and liaison services for Army organizations and personnel. We are here to assist the USAG Italy community.
Environmental Review Process
- The Environmental Division implements the Environmental Review process in early project planning stages. Environmental reviews evaluate potential effects of a proposed action or project on the environment to determine possible alternative designs or mitigation measures to reduce environmental impacts.
Garrison environmental specialists coordinate with the U.S. Department of Defense and Italian Host Nation authorities to follow the latest guidance on environmental requirements.
