Deputy to the Garrison Commander Mr. Ulises Marrero

Mr. Marrero brings to Fort Buchanan more than 30 years of experience in human resources and financial management gained through military and civilian service in the U.S. Army. Mr. Marrero’s civilian experience also includes, Director of Human Resources, Chief Military Personnel Division and Transition Services Manager, all at Fort Buchanan.
Mr. Marrero possess a track record for recognizing complex problems and resourcefully developing and implementing creative solutions, resulting in increased productivity. He is hands-on leader that guides his team in finding creative solutions to complex issues. He excels in fast-paced, high-stress environments requiring attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and quick adaptation to constantly changing priorities.
Mr. Marrero retired from U.S. Army as a Sergeant Major on 31 October 2017. Throughout his 24 years career, he served in a myriad of leadership positions culminating as the Army Reserve Command Equal Opportunity Sergeant Major.
Mr. Marrero is married to Mayra Rosado and have two daughters Gisayra (27) and Francis (24).
