When Fort Belvoir began renovations to its McRee Barracks for single enlisted service members, it was decided to prioritize available space with unexpected amenities – including full kitchen and washer/dryer – as well as greater privacy, to foster a safe and secure community, improved health and easier-to-maintain infrastructure, according to Lt. Col. Amber Ryder, Headquarters Battalion Commander.

FORT KNOX, Ky. – The U.S. Army is offering promotion incentives to Soldiers who refer individuals to their local recruiting station. The Soldier Referral Program encourages all Soldiers to support recruiting and gives them an opportunity to share their stories and decision to serve with their community.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Soldiers safely removed and destroyed an unexploded round discovered at the Gettysburg National Military Park, Feb. 8.

The American Red Cross has honored a lifetime of service by Maj. Gen. Carl H. McNair, Jr, by dedicating the Fort Belvoir Red Cross House in his name during ceremonies, Jan 26. McNair, an Army aviator and former Commanding General of the U.S. Army Aviation Center in Fort Rucker, Alabama, was an ardent Red Cross supporter during his retirement, and a frequent volunteer and visitor to Fort Belvoir Events.
