Report Stormwater Illicit Discharges!

Fort Belvoir has a municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permit that requires the development and implementation of a plan for the detection and elimination of illicit discharges (IDDE). Fort Belvoir Policy Memorandum # 71 Prohibits Illicit Discharges into the MS4.

Illicit discharges can include illegal connections to the storm drain system from homes or businesses, sewage leaks from the sanitary system into the storm system and other discharges that could include potable water leaks, car washing activities and dumping of oil, paint and other waste products. These discharges pose a threat to water quality and surface waters.
