The Directorate of Human Resources (DHR) provides quality military personnel services, administrative services, substance abuse prevention services and continuing education services to our Soldiers, Retirees, Family Members and Civilian Employees at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

The Armed Forces Substance Abuse Prevention program provides education & early intervention to help commanders, civilian supervisors, and the Aberdeen Proving Ground community reduce lifestyle risk factors to increase healthy outcomes. We are committed to understanding our supported units and their missions, anticipating what is needed to sustain mission readiness, and proudly serving as a valued member of the Commander’s battle staff.
The Army Continuing Education System (ACES) mission is "To vigorously promote lifelong learning opportunities to sharpen the competitive edge of the Army by providing and managing quality self-development programs and services."

Are you a Veteran that did not retire? If yes, you can buy back your military time and count that time towards your retirement and leave. Start by filling out form RI20-97 then send a copy of it and your DD Form 214 or equivalent to your DFAS branch. Make sure to include any Reserve and Guard time as well. Once you're at step five, come to DHR for assistance. DHR will send your documents to CPAC for final processing and uploading. if you have questions during steps 1-4 contact the DHR team.
