Colonel Donyeill “Don” Mozer is a native of Statesville, North Carolina. He enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1994 after high school and later transitioned to an officer role, earning his commission as a Quartermaster Officer (branch detailed Infantry) in 2000 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He attended the Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Moore, Georgia.
He holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Holy Cross College in South Bend, Indiana, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master of Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (City University of New York), and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is an ABD Ph.D. candidate in Interdisciplinary Health Science at the University of Texas at El Paso. His military education includes the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Combined Logistics Officer Career Course.
Colonel Mozer has held leadership positions at every level, from rifle platoon leader to battalion commander, including three combat tours. His assignments include instructor roles at West Point and McDaniel College, various staff positions across multiple divisions, and, most recently, Director of Operations for Joint Task Force North in El Paso, Texas, where he also commanded the Army Field Support Battalion - Bliss.
His military qualifications include the Ranger Tab, Airborne Badge, Rigger Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB), and Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB).
Colonel Mozer and his wife Likuana (Lowery) of Statesville, North Carolina have three children, Cierra, Camille, Donovan and one grandchild, Marcel.
