Command Sergeant Major Jamal N. Latore

CSM Latore is a Jamaican-American and a Brooklyn native of New York City and entered the Army on February 25, 1999. He completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and was awarded the MOS of 12B Combat Engineer.

Upon completion of AIT, his duty assignments included 299th Engineer Battalion, 4th Infantry Division; A Co 37th Engineer Battalion, 20th ENG BDE; A Co 425 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4-25th Infantry BDE; 34th Sapper Company, 65th Engineer Battalion, 25th ID; 137th Sapper Company, 307th Engineer Battalion, 20th ENG BDE; B Co 37th Engineer Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division; HHC 37th Engineer Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division; Sidewinder Team OC/T, Operations Group; 20th Engineer Brigade. He has participated in the following campaigns: Operations Iraqi Freedom I, II, III, IV, Operation Enduring Freedom XIV, and XV.

His Military/ Civilian education includes Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, USASMA Graduate Class 69 Sergeants Major Course, Pre- Command Course, Sapper Leader Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Air Assault School, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, Battle Staff, Equal Opportunity Course, Combative Level 1 & 2 and Combat Life Saver. CSM Latore holds an Associate’s Degree in Science and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Leadership and Workforce Development and a Masters in Strategic Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.

CSM Latore is married to his wife, Iliana (Lily) Latore from Brooklyn, NY. They have three adults Ivan (30), Yazmin (26), and Jeremiah (20) and two grandchildren (Everlie (6), Mateo (18months).
