The Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC) is located near the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU). The SFAC supports Soldiers assigned to the SRU and those who are in the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB)/Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) process and their Family members.

 

Services

Located within the Soldier and Family Assistance Center is Information and Referral, Financial Readiness, Employment Readiness, Chaplain, Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) and Kansas Works. These programs are here to serve all military Service Members of all military forces and Family Members (not only active duty, but active Reservist and active National Guard).

The SFAC has a lobby available to our military Service members and Family members to relax between appointments.  Here is what is available for your use (some services may be limited at this time due to COVID-19):

*Television area
*Fire place to relax at during winter months
*Outdoor patio to enjoy fresh air during good weather
**No computer lab and no WiFi available

Chaplain
Provides counseling and resources. The chaplain has a weekly Bible Study and lunch on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in conference room 140.  Please call ahead of time to verify the class is taking place at (785) 240-7178 or (785) 240-7192.

Financial Services
The SFAC is able to provide you an accredited financial counselor for:

     Financial Services Specific to SFAC Service Members        
          Veteran Affairs (VA) Pension
          Medical Separation Pay
          Medical Retirement
          Reserve Component Retirement
          Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC)
          Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay (CRDP)
          Military Pay and Travel entitlements at Separation
          Retirement Calculation (once date of separation is provided, along with Army and VA ratings known)

     Financial Services to all Service Members        
          Budgeting
          Debt Reduction
          Insurance
          Major Purchase Planning to include:  A home, vehicles, major vacations, and more
          Military Pay and Entitlements
          Personal Finance
          Saving and Investment
          Retirement Planning to include: Thrift Savings Plan [TSP], Individual Retirement Account [IRA] and 401K
