Command Sergeant Major Fitzroy Ramsey hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He entered the United States Army Delayed Entry Program on 23 June 1993 and departed for active duty on 18 November 1993, attending basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia, where he trained as a 92Y, Unit Supply Specialist.

His civilian education includes a Master in Business Administration from Webster University, Bachelor of Science in Management from National-Louis University, Associate of Science in Management and Associate of Science in General Studies from Georgia Military College.
CSM Ramsey’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Presidential Service Medal, and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. He is a recipient of the 7th Infantry Division Order of the Bayonet, the Association of Quartermasters Order of Saint Martin and the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment Order of the Spur.
CSM Ramsey is married to Trishon Ramsey and they have four children, Fitzroy Jr., Mia, Jacob, and Ethan.
