CSM Soraya Willis is a native of Guyana, South America and enlisted in the Army in October 2001. She attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia where she earned Military Occupational Specialty 94D, Air Traffic Control Equipment repairer.

CSM Willis has served in a variety of leadership positions such as Army Recruiter, Senior Sustainment Cell Observer/Controller (OC), Air Traffic Control Systems Maintenance Supervisor, Sexual Harassment Assault and Response (SHARP) Program Manager, Senior Drill Sergeant, Senior Instructor, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant and Master Leader Course Chief.

CSM Willis’ assignments include Fort Campbell Kentucky, Columbus Recruiting Company, Columbus Ohio, Fort Johnson Louisiana, Fort Novosel Alabama, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, Fort Eisenhower Georgia, Camp Henry-Republic of Korea, and Fort Bliss Texas. She has deployed in support of Operation New Dawn.

CSM Willis’ military education includes the Army Recruiter course, Drill Sergeant Academy, Joint Readiness Training Center Observer/Controller Course, SHARP Foundation Course, First Sergeant Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course and the Battalion Pre-Command Course, CSM Development Program. She is a graduate of the Sergeant’s Major Course, Class 72. CSM Willis holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Technical Management from DeVry University and a Master of Science in Project Management from Grantham University.

CSM Willis’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Superior Unit Award, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Gold Recruiter Badge (3 Sapphires), the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Glen E. Morrell Recruiting Award for Excellence and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Award. CSM Willis is a member of the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe.
