Command Sergeant Major Frederick J. Batiste was born on 16 November 1971 is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and enlisted in the U.S Army on 06 August 1996 as a Cavalry Scout at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Since then, he has served in every leadership position from squad leader to Command Sergeant Major. CSM Batiste has been stationed in various locations around the Continental United States, as well as Korea and Germany. His last duty assignment was Command Sergeant Major for 3rd Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Polk, Louisiana.


CSM Batiste’s stateside assignments include Gunner and Squad Leader in the 1st Squadron, 16th Cavalry, Ft. Knox, KY; AC/RC Duty (O/C Trainer), Ft. Eustis, VA.; Scout Platoon Sergeant and Assistant Operation Sergeant in the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry, Ft. Stewart, Ga., First Sergeant 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Irwin, CA., First Sergeant, RHHT, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Irwin, CA, First Sergeant Bravo Troop, 5th Squadron, 15th Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Benning, GA.  Operation Sergeant Major, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood, Texas. His overseas assignments Driver, Gunner and Squad Leader in the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Friedberg, Germany; Squad Leader and Scout Section Sergeant in the 4th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Camp Garry Owen Korea.  He has deployed to Iraq and Bosnia for combat and peacekeeping operations.


CSM Batiste is a graduate of Primary Leadership Development Course, Advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, and Master Resilience Trainer Course. CSM Batiste is a graduate of Class 67 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor Degree in Health and Science, Master Degree in Sport Management.
